The Support to the Modernization of the Administration of Justice Project (SMAJ) funded by the European Commission aims to enhance the functional and technical capabilities of the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) and court professionals to increase the quality and reduce delays within the public service of Justice, as well as to promote Juvenile court system.

SMAJ will strengthen the capacity of the following Egyptian beneficiaries: the Ministry of Justice, the Court of Cassation (CoC), the Judicial Information Centre (JIC), the National Centre for Judicial Studies (NCJS), and the Juvenile Court System.

This project will support these Beneficiaries in the establishment of a long-term strategy to reform and modernize their own internal processes.

With a 9 million budget, SMAJ started in December 2014 and will last 4 years.
